Snoop Dogg At Fluxx???

Or maybe not...

Apparently the reason Snoop Dogg didn't show up to Fluxx Thursday night was because he was sick all day. Hmmmm, I wonder if that really was the real reason?

For the people that stood in line waiting to get in only to be disappointed from an artist not appearing had to be the ultimate let down.

Fluxx isn't the the only place to suffer the flake syndrome though. It seems like flake season is in effect for artist appearances in San Diego right now.

Rich Boy didn't show up to Belo, Ester Dean was no where to be seen in Decos, The-Dream and Fabolous chose to skip out on their On Broadway appearance and due to managers being fired and faulty contracts Nicki Minaj never even knew she was booked at 4th & B.

The interesting thing is that out of all the situations, the only one to really catch flack was the Nicki Minaj at 4th & B situation. I don't know why anyone would blame a promoter or booking agent for an artist's manager being shady.

I'm gonna throw an SSD flag out because artists flake shows and appearances all the time, but if the promoter/booking agent knows ahead of time that something is foul and cancels the show I would think that would be better than an artist not showing at all.

Honestly, its even worse if the artist was paid to be somewhere and flakes out, it just looks bad for everyone involved.

In my opinion and as a business person, although I wouldn't want either to happen, if I had to choose one over the other, I'd rather have a cancellation then a no show.

Sidenote...the good thing about Fluxx was they provided an Open bar for the patrons to make up for Snoop's absence. I say anytime you have an open bar at a club is pretty cool even if it is for the last 15 minutes of the night.

Either way, things happen and we just have to pick up and move on to the next one.
