It's All About The Art

People make mistakes.  People aren't perfect. People will let you down.  I mean these are things we all should know by now coming to the end of 2011.

What people may not realize is at times when we do fall, the human spirit resides in such a resilient place that as long as you have the will and desire to succeed, you will.

The truth is, when you make mistake, the best thing to do is to forget all other distractions and get back to the grind that got you to the top in the first place.

For T.I., redemption island lies within his determination to continue making great music.

TIP is already to a great start aligning himself with the likes of Dr. Dre for his new mixtape dropping New Years Day.

Can't Wait.

The I.$.H. Presents...La Siesta: La Sexta Hora

It makes sense that after first making The Late Night Sessions and then In The Morning R&B Blends that The I.$.H. would have to do something for the middle of the day.

Enter The I.$.H. Presents...La Siesta: La Sexta Hora. A siesta is defined as a midday nap or break. I think it only seems right that The I.$.H. should finish out the series with an R&B Mix for the middle of the day.

La Siesta: La Sexta Hora is the perfect blend of R&B smooth joints that can take you through the middle of the day while keeping you motivated to accomplish your goals later on in the evening. Wait, who are we kidding, play this R&B treasure at your own risk.

La Siesta: La Sexta Hora. Use your lunch time wisely...

*s/n I re-uploaded both The Late Night Sessions and #InTheMorning for your listening pleasure.

The I.$.H. Presents...In The Morning (Mixtape)

A year after The I.$.H. Presents The Late Night Sessions R&B groove mix, I have decided to make a new R&B slow mix entitled In The Morning to follow up. I do have to thank a few special friends and a VERY special twitter/BBM friend for giving me inspiration to be able to make this new mixtape CD.

I thought Late Night Sessions would be my last R&B DJ mixtape, but I love music too much and always want people to hear and feel the passion that I have for the music.

I know a lot of people were waiting patiently for this, so without further ado...

For the record, I am not singing, this is a collection of my favorite new and hot R&B songs mixed together for your pleasure.

Also, this is for promotional use only! I am not trying to make money from this project, I just one day would like to be a TV Host/Music Personality...lol

Kanye West - Love Hate (Mixtape)

For all of those people (cough...me...cough) waiting for birthday gifts on November 18th, I have a solution...come to my party hosted by Shock G, then hang with me at the Chargers/Broncos football game and of course buy me a copy of Kanye's new CD. (What a busy birthday week I will have...).

Since its only November 8th, I have to wait 10 days for the debauchery to commence.

If you haven't figured out by now, yes this post is intended for me! I basically can't wait for My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy to drop so I searched the web for any type of snippets, unfinished, non mastered songs and to my surprise found this mixtape entitled Love Hate with some of the featured songs, snippets and full tracks from the Runaway Video.

What's cool is I KNOW with all the leaked songs out, Kanye will freak the tracks so the album versions will be completely different from the leaked versions we've already been hearing.

Anyway...

This should give me...you a fix until the album drops November 22nd.

The Game - Brake Lights hosted by Dj Skee (Mixtape)

It seems The Game has been laying low and for good reason. Personally, I had been reluctant on Game for a minute since he hasn't been dropping that heat like he has done in the past.

Honestly, I just wasn't sure how his new material would be after the not so decent reviews of Shake.

I'm always trying to erase the hype, so of course when I heard more than 5 people talking about Brake Lights, I finally had to see what the madness was about.

I can't lie, his new mixtape Brake Lights is true heat. I was skeptical but after the first 5 songs, I knew he had something good on his hands. It seems once again DJ Skee knows how to bring artists back into the spotlight correctly. What a good way to return.

Hopefully, he can keep the momentum up for his up coming album...The R.E.D. Album.

Anyway, thanks to http://www.chicagonow.com/ and XXL for the mixtape plug.

Jay-Z - Good Old Days (DJ Green Lantern Mix)

It really seems like there's nothing like the old school. I know it also seems like they really don't make them like they used to, and I definitely remember the good old days.

I feel like as I get older, the memories keep getting better and the present is just a portal taking me to the future to begin actually living life by reminiscing on past to propel me to become better than I was.

Of course you should never live off of past fame and you should always work hard to become better than you were 5 seconds ago, but when I think of the past, it just reminds me that a lot of times its definitely not like it used to be.

After doing my weekly scroll of acquiring new music, I came across DJ Green Lanterns Jay-Z mixtape Creative Control. Skimming through, I realized some of the music is older Jay-Z material but it reminds me of the glory days.

One song in particular is Good Old Days, blended with Styles P and none other than 2Pac's verse from Old School. The blend is a perfect mastering of three genius rappers telling their recollections of growing up within their respective Burroughs of New York.

What I have learned from just listening to this song is yes we should cherish the old school but as we all get older, we should also realize that each day of life is a chance to do better than we did before.

Anyway, check out DJ Green Lantern's Mixtape Creative Control.

Go Hard or Go Home...

A lot can happen in a week that's for certain. And from the looks of it, this next following week will be more of the same positive energy.

From having business meetings with PR companies, photo sessions for Modeling Agencies, Trips to LA paid for by clients and potential events that can change the face of San Diego all together, I feel I am definitely on the right track to success.

Now I am definitely not trying to brag and obviously some things are just in the beginning stages, but everything starts somewhere right?

With that being said, to keep me upbeat and in grind mode, today's motivational Music and "I'm Focused" song comes from Jeezy's new mixtape hosted by Don Cannon called Go Hard or Go Home off of Trap or Die, Pt. II: By Any Means Necessary.

Jeezy recently dropped the mixtape for the streets and sure enough its heat; just enough to hold fans over until TM103 comes out later on in the summer.

Anyway, in recent weeks, the way I have been feeling has allowed me to KEEP channeling positive energy and sure enough after listening to this song I have made my decision.

If you have been working towards a specific goal and have come farther than you ever imagined, the decision is easy. You shouldn't allow yourself to quit and of course there is no choice but to go hard or go home!

I Love You (Yes I Du) I.$.H. Remix...

Ahhh, my friends it seems I have found an "I'm focused" song for the day for you guys...Since I love old school, and I love when artists sample old school songs, correctly that is, I had to get the mixing software out for you. I just love this beat. It just drives me to wanna produce tracks myself. But that's for another lifetime.

Anyway, Young Jeezy has a song called Circulate from his album The Recession and Mary J. Blige has a new song called I Love You (Yes I Du) from Stronger WithEach Tear.

They both sample the old school track "Let The Dollar Circulate" by Billy Paul. It's a great track and obviously great minds think alike or at least they like to use the same type of producers.

I decided to make a mix featuring the two artists. Seeing as they probably won't actually collaborate on this song, I took matters in my own hands by mixing a version down so we can all share in the dream of wondering what if...

I think this will be Mary J. Blige's new single so it should be fun. Who knows they may just collaborate after all.

The I.$.H. Presents...The Late Night Sessions Mixtape Vol. 1

Every once in a while, I have to give back as thanks for all of the things that are given to me, and with the Christmas spirit still lingering, I figure I have one more gift to give. (I mean some of the best gifts come the day after Christmas anyway...ha).

How many times have you had a hot date coming over and you end up scrambling to make a playlist to set the mood but just can't find the right songs in time before the doorbell rings. Ahhh, thanks to me, you can look no further.

When I am working, as you all should know, I always listen to music to groove to, edit photos and surf the web. During this time, there are certain songs that tend to stick in my head and I may have to repeat them several times.

Back when I used to DJ, this is how I would compile the latest mixtape/mix CD for the people. If I would get enough songs that were what I call "a repeatable", then I would get to working on that new hot ish for the streets.

Even though I don't DJ anymore, it ALWAYS has been about the music. I have such a strong passion for new music, especially new R&B music and usually when I hear my new found favorite joints, I want to share the passion with the people, hence the reason I USED to DJ.

I definitely am an avid believer in movie night, DVD night, or date night etc, which is the perfect time to share your new favorite songs, so my gift to you all is my mixtape "The Late Night Sessions" obviously FOR PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY to get mood right for you and your special "friend".

Download it, unzip and enjoy with your boo...ha!

No Ceilings...

When you don't have any limits or boundaries, you can do anything you set your mind to. Most times people fail because they have a subconscious voice in the back of their mind saying they really can't accomplish the goal at hand.

Lil Wayne is successful because obviously he told that voice in the back of his mind to shut up. Whether you agree with his self-proclamation that he is the best rapper alive or not really doesn't matter. Weezy F. Baby believes it and so for him that's all that needs to be said...

I know my personal opinion doesn't matter, and with Lil Wayne having to do a prison bid, he has decided to leave the people with some food for thought for us to contemplate while he is gone. Check out the mixtape No Ceilings and decide if he is the best rapper alive for yourself.

Is 50 Cent Forever King? Maybe In HIS dreams...

By now, I'm sure most of you have heard that 50 Cent a.k.a. Fif, plans to put out a mixtape every few weeks this summer until his album Until I Self Destruct hits stores this fall. I think I can safely say I am a self-proclaimed music head, so I try to listen to anyone that has ATLEAST had a good reign, meaning they have earned my respect enough to listen to what they have to say. I know with some of these new kids on the block, I have to be force fed to listen to their music like being forced to eat guacamole!
In Forever King, 50 decides to go FAR left by doing his own updated remix versions of old school R & B 90's songs like Al B Sure's I'm Dreaming And Case's Touch Me Tease Me.
Now mind you, I know that artists are supposed to grow, take risks and try new things by being able to step outside the box. I have been checking around, and a few sites have been saying that 50 Cent is back...SSD (dont believe the hype!!!!). This time, I don't think 50's far fetched attempt has succeeded.
What's interesting is I usually like 50's music, but seeing as this new school doesn't even remember half of the songs on this mixtape, I can only hope the "King's" album has a better concept of what the people want or in the immortal words of B.I.G. "50 Cent's reign on the top will be short like leprechauns."

Here is the mixtape for you:
I'll let you choose King Fifty's fate:
All Hail The King... or Dethrone him...

Drake...The Pressure is on...

By now, most people that know me, know that I am a fan of Drake. It's really simple to understand because as a photographer, I consider myself an artist. Quite honestly, I think I can relate to Drake as an artist because he strives to make good music and I feel he has done what you are supposed to do when it comes to being an artist: build a buzz, get your music/art in as many peoples hands and have everyone in the streets talking! (I believe this is what every artist should strive to do, including me). But now, the pressure for Drake to make an album as good as his mixtapes is definitely in full effect.

I think we have all seen artists succumb to the pressure of being on top of the mixtape game only to fall from grace pretty hard, especially come album time. (i.e. Lloyd Banks and Jin to name a couple... do you even remember Jin? Either way, I wish Drake ALL the luck and HOPE his album lives up to all the hype that we have given him! Believe me if he doesn't, I of all people will be mad, but I will also be the first in line to tell Drake, "Damn, you sold us a dream!" I need that good music mayne! If you haven't heard of Drake, Here is the latest mixtape to hit the streets.

Thanks to On Smash for the heat.
