Jay-Z On The Cover Of Forbes
Jay-Z appears on the latest cover of Forbes magazine. This is the same person that could not get a record deal, and was turned down by all the record labels he went to, so of course he made his own.
Basically, Shawn Corey Carter a.k.a Jay-Z has showed us if you want to get things done, you have to take matters in your own hands.
The reality is that you can have whatever you want if you believe and never take no for an answer. Of course Jay-Z already proved he believed that theory by marrying Beyonce.

Jay Z and Eminem- Home and Home Tour 2010 - Yankee Stadium
Walking up to the stadium, I could already sense the excitement amongst fans as they ushered into the venue. Two of hip hop’s most accomplished artists were about to ignite the stage, both of them Grammy award winners and Billboard Kings, not to mention the rumor that both had a few tricks up their sleeves, mainly superstar guest appearances.
The stage was massive and the stadium was sold out for the evening, scalpers were offering up to $300 for upper deck tickets right before show time.
Once the crowd settled in, Eminem’s set began with a recap of the past few years of his life in words across the Yankee Stadium screens. Recently he’s overcome a tumultuous battle with drug addiction and had a hard time coping with the murder of his best friend Proof.
His demons eventually led him to the brink of suicide and right as he hit rock bottom, he bounced back up with last year’s release “Relapse,” which was received with much commercial success but garnered harsh critical ridicule amongst both fans and music critics.
Oddly enough in “Talkin’ to Myself,” a track off of Eminem’s groundbreaking smash hit of the year, “Recovery,” he touches on the subject directly:
“Them last two albums didn’t count /Encore I was on drugs/ Relapse I was flushing them out/ I’ve come to make it up to you/ Now no more f&^king around/ I’ve got something to prove to fans cuz it feels like I let em’ down/ So please accept my apology/ I finally feel like I’m back to normal/ I feel like me again……”
Indeed, Eminem did make it up to fans this year with “Recovery,” and after his short story was told on the screens, he stormed the stage for the first song of the night “Won’t Back Down,” with his traditional hoodie nearly covering his eyes as he hit every lyric on point and looked as agile as he has in years during a live performance, bouncing back and forth across the stage.
After a few tracks off “Recovery,” including “No Love” featuring currently incarcerated rap star Lil Wayne, which prompted the sold out crowd to chant “Free Weezy,” Em brought up and coming artist B.O.B on stage to perform their hit single of the summer “Airplanes Pt. 2.”
Following the first guest appearance, Slim returned to the stage and did a few more classics including the chilling “Stan,”” the award winning song that really branched his music far beyond hip hop as he performed it with Elton John live at the Grammy Awards.
Suddenly a huge roar could be heard from the Yankee Stadium crowd as Queens’ native 50 Cent took the stage. 50 received a very warm reception as he performed “Patiently Waiting” with Eminem, his most memorable hit “In Da Club,” and later had the lights cut out in the stadium and was joined by Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks of G- Unit as they donned glow in the dark outfits and performed “I Get Money,” arguably the most notable performance of the night so far.
That was until Dr. Dre made his way onto the stage and I thought a bomb had gone off in the stadium the crowed roared so damn loud upon his introduction.
Dre came out to perform “Still D.R.E” and then went into “Nothin’ But A G Thang,” with Eminem filling in admirably for Snoop Dogg’s verses.
Following Dre’s exit, Eminem went into current hits off “Recovery,” including a captivating performance of “Love The Way You Lie” (minus Rihanna) before going into old school hits “The Real Slim Shady” and “Without Me,” which about 80% of the crowd tried to rap back to him, bar for bar.
The lights dimmed and Eminem took a few emotional minutes to personally thank his fans for continuing to support him during the past few years of his life changing experiences.
He admitted that he was wrong in so many ways and never wanted to find himself in such a rough place again before the chorus for “Not Afraid” began echoing in and his best performance of the night began.
The whole stadium was rapping along with him as he confessed his sins in the hit song and reminded them that:
“It was my decision to get clean/I did it for me/Admittedly, I probably did it subliminally for you/So I could come back a brand new me/You helped see me through/and don’t even realize what you did/ Believe me you/I been through the ringer/But there’s little they can do to the middle finger/ I got a tear in my eye/I feel like the King of …my world/Haters can make like bees with no stingers and drop dead.”
“Not Afraid” live at Yankee Stadium sent chills down my spine, Em delivered every verse flawlessly and the live band backing him had him dancing across the stage after his final verse, for the first time during a live performance in years, Marshall Mathers looked like he was at peace. Eminem thanked the fans one more time and exited the stage.
However, the crowd wasn’t going to let him get off that easy.
Chants of “Slim,” “Em,” “Marshall,” and of course “E-MI-NEM,” ripped through the sold out crowd, the lights came back on and the superstar delivered his Oscar Winning song from the film “8 Mile” “Lose Yourself.” The fans went wild and I even jumped out of my seat to give him a round of applause.
A short firework show followed his exit, the lights went dim, and on a chilly night in the Bronx thousands began anticipating the entrance of the King of New York.
A strobe light shot down onto the stage as Jay Z rose from below gripping the mic and the thousands of fans in attendance began chanting “HOVA” at the top of their lungs as Brooklyn’s beloved emcee began his opening number, The Intro track from his “The Dynasty: Roc La Familia” album.
After the freestyle, he began a current one in which he rapped:
“Break a record in this b&^ch, HOV/ Hit them with that BALCO.”
Undoubtedly, Jay Z and Eminem were already breaking records with the tour, all four shows had sold out shortly after they went on sale months ago, the previous night’s show was the first ever concert at the new Yankee Stadium, and tonight was the grand finale, which in hip hop slang “would put up MJ Numbers.”
Jay Z knew what was at stake and what he was about to deliver was the most epic performance I’ve ever witnessed live.
After the opening tracks, Jay went into “Run This Town,” flashing strobe lights were everywhere, cameras snapped pictures, and Jay had the crowd do their best impersonation of Rihanna on the chorus before Kanye West ran onto the stage decked out in a bright red suit with gold chains and viciously delivered his closing verse to the hit single off of Jay’s “Blueprint 3” album. Kanye and Jay did a mini-set together as they performed their new hits “Monster,” and the remix to Kanye’s single “Power.”
After the duo mesmerized the fans in attendance, Jay took time for an interlude and spoke about meeting a legend the day before. Apparently, Jay ran across hip hop pioneer Kool Herc the day before and invited Herc to join him at Yankee Stadium for tonight’s concert.
Hova had the crowd give Herc a standing ovation and thanked the hip hop legend for his impact:
“We wouldn’t be here without you.”
After the acknowledgment of Herc’s presence, Kanye jumped into “Good Life,” the most colorful set of the night, as West rapped and the screens on the stage lit up like a carnival. Following Ye’s exit from the stage, Jay brought out legendary producer Swizz Beatz for Hova’s hit “On To The Next One,” before bringing out Slim Shady for their verbal spar “Renegade,” which was released on Hova’s original “Blueprint” album.
After the duo’s performance, Eminem embraced Jay Z and thanked him for the tour, with Jay responding that the feeling was mutual, then Em turned to the fans and once again thanked them for coming out, he was so emotional I thought he was going to shed a tear upon his exit.
The show continued with Jay performing a new single ft. Rick Ross, who was mia for the set, entitled “Free Mason,” in which Jay strikes back at those who believe he is involved with Freemasonry:
“I told you I’m amazin’/ Not that I’m a Mason!”
Jay rapped during the set, which included Christianity symbols portrayed on the screens. Shortly after, up and coming rap superstar Drake joined Jigga on stage for their song “Light Up,” which both emcees breezed through smoothly and Drake donned a Yankee fitted to pay respects to the city he was in.
However, Drake’s performance of “Up All Night,” ft. Nicki Minaj, who joined him on stage, was a little bit rough as he seemed to slip up on a few lines, but most of the fans didn’t even notice (guess I’m just pickyJ)
During his 90 minute set Jay also paid respects to a few of hip hop’s fallen soldiers as he rapped Pimp C’s verse acapella off of “Big Pimpin’” and demanded that the DJ play Notorious BIG’s hits “Juicy,” and “One More Chance,” as he instructed the crowd to rap the lyrics.
Images of New York City began to flash across the screens and the Yankee symbol down on the field was illuminated as the beat kicked in for “Empire State of Mind,” fans raised their cell phone screens and lighters, making the stadium look as if one big light show was going on.
Screams of “BROOKLYN!” “HARLEM!” “QUEENS!” “SOUTH BRONX!” “STATEN SON!” “YONKERS!” “EAST BK!” and of course, my sole “WESTCOAST!” filtered through the stadium as Jay rapped about the city that made him who he is today and dropped his now famous line:
“S%^t I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can.”
However, by far the most captivating song of the night was when Jigga brought out his “wifey” Beyonce to sing the chorus for “Young Forever,” jaws were dropping all around the stadium upon the entrance of the beautiful pop Queen.
Just like in real life, they made a perfect combination on stage, leaving me to believe that true love just might still exist in today’s society.
Beyonce exited the stage and Jigga began to perform “Thank You,” before stopping halfway through and jumping into “Encore,” which many thought would be his swan song for the evening. But the self proclaimed “God Emcee” was far from done.
“New York City it sounds like you’re not ready to go home yet!?”
Jay asked his fans.
Everybody began throwing up the Dynasty Diamond and chanting HOVA, HOVA, HOVA, before Jigga responded: “For anyone who hasn’t been down since “Reasonable Doubt,” you can head to the exit.” Jay Z’s protégé Memphis Bleek joined him for an encore that included verses from old school Jigga hits “Where I’m From,” “Dirt Off Your Shoulder,” “Best of Me (Remix),” and “Jigga My N&*ga.”
Finally, Jay spent about 15 minutes thanking all the fans in attendance for a memorable night and their continuous support, the lights at Yankee Stadium came on and the thousands of people in attendance ushered toward the exits to jump on the subway or hop in their cars.
On my way out of the stadium it finally donned on me that I had just witnessed history and these artists are truly the voice of our generation.
To say I was inspired by the show would be a major understatement, now more than ever I realize I have to do whatever it takes to make my dreams come true, life is too short to not make your dreams reality………………………

Happy Birthday To WHO!?
What did you get for your 29th birthday? I can't wait to see what she will get for the Dirty 30!
Sleepy Brown - Lookin' 4 Ya feat Big Boi & Andre 3000
The interesting thing is, this song was released on a Tapemasters Inc mixtape almost a year ago with DJ tags, (DJ screaming over the song) and only Andre 3000's verse.
This song is amazing to me and its proof that Outkast should never break up! I'm just saying.
Anyway check out this new joint...

Who's Got Your Back?
Honestly, my confession is Aaliyah was the first girl EVER to make it seem like she was down to earth and approachable if you ever met her, sort of like she was singing directly to me.
Aaliyah showed me that you can believe in fairy tale endings when it comes to love, regardless of what your homies, the media, and haters say.
At that time, I could count on one hand how many girls were actually saying, "Hey, I'm over here. Come talk to me please, I wrote YOU a four page letter."
And even if they were secretly thinking it, what good would it do since I wasn't and still am not a mind reader?
For me, what made me fall for Aaliyah was the fact that my love for her was already incorporated within the actual music including the beats and lyrical content.
I didn't have to physically see her at all because the music already had my heart, but once I did, if the deal wasn't closed before, finally seeing her beauty face solidified it.
The song I am feeling today is I Gotcha Back from Aaliyah's 1996 Album One In A Million.
Since 1996, my experience has not been as pleasant and has lead me to believe when it comes to dealing with women, most of them tend to come off, sometimes not on purpose, as if they are the epitome of supremacy or royalty, literally. A scale far from the side Aaliyah used to sing so passionately about.
In present times, its seems almost impossible to simply say hello without a woman thinking it could be something more. If you add the celebrity element you can forget about it!
In a word, Untouchable... Like, "What? How dare you speak to me." That is until I reply, "Oh, I was just trying to tell you you had toilet paper under your shoe."
All jokes aside, I can say I do understand why most women develop this so called queen-madam-ism mindset. Women get hit on so much, they don't know what to perceive as sincerity, B.S. or just someone being cordial so they feel they need to put up the protective shield no matter what.
What's interesting is a lot of guys, not including the obvious such as an actual professional photographer, automatically think because a woman smiles, or is being cordial, she is flirting.
In hindsight, the signal is crossed on both sides of the spectrum leaving both soldiers of love lost at sea hoping to find any type of navigational tool to find their way. This miscommunication is why mixed signal collisions happen all the time.
The problem with this particular communication error is that most women don't want to put themselves "out there" or send ANY signals at all, so it can forever be an awkward situation between a man and woman first contact.
Like I said before, in my mind Aaliyah was the first woman to verbally say out loud, "hey, I'm feeling you are you feeling me?" without me having to have my super S.O.S. decoder to figure out what her eyes were saying. Why yes... yes, I am.
In reality, even though Aaliyah's music was very personal and heartfelt, she still was a celebrity so any chance of me specifically meeting her was slim, precisely one in a million. There goes that plan.
To elaborate even further, how many times would any other woman besides Aaliyah, celebrity or not, reveal her true feelings, one chance out of a million? I know it is possible, but of course I have to ask.
I believe Aaliyah was on the right page and believed in fairy tales. She sang ever so passionately about love and showed it by not waiting for her prince charming to arrive but rather going to get him.
*I Am The Type When I Find A Man I Like,
Its On And Poppin, And No Stoppin, The Things I Do For You.
No Complications, Baby Keep It Real.
Do One To Me, As I Do, And Everything Will Be Cool.
When You Find Yourself In Times Of Trouble,
Remember That I'm By Your Side. (I'm By Your Side)
Lean On me, When Your Not Strong, Ill Be Your Friend,
Ill Help You Carry On.
*I'm Down For Whatever, No Matter How Ya Act.
Ya Never Have To Worry Bout A Thing, I Gotcha Back.
When No One Else Is There, With Me You can Chill.
You Know Somebody's Got Ya Back.
Because It Feels Real Good,
When You Know Somebody's Gotcha Back.*
(Aaliyah -I Gotcha Back)
After re listening to Aaliyah's music 15 years later as an adult, I have finally figured out I don't want to play this goofy game anymore.
I would like to digress back to 1st grade's simplicity: do you like me? Check yes. Check no. At least then you had a fighting chance, even with the "check maybe" occasionally thrown in there. I will say, I'm still trying to figure out where it got complicated.
If we fast forward to this complex, emotionless new era formula we call dating, men and women are both stuck in an enigma trying to find out if "I saw you, looking at me, looking at you, waiting for me to look back at you as we both look to the sea!" Confusing right? (some I.$.H. my dad says!)
After the extensive eye contact, flirting, and deciding to yourself if you even want to make initial contact, once you FINALLY have, here's the tricky part: finding out if you're even compatible all while making yourself vulnerable which takes lots of time.
The truth is, it really is a waste of time to not be yourself up front. By selling dreams and giving some sort of false hope to the other person, it will only prolong the already doomed relationship.
Now-a-days, with all the games being played between both men and women, for the most part it seems like everyone "just wants to have fun" for fear of being hurt.
Generally speaking, when you first start seeing someone, its usually assumed that the person you are getting to know is already seeing other people anyway, so why should you sit at home waiting by the phone?
Ahhhh, the trusty "I wonder what they are doing syndrome". Both parties don't want to be made a fool of, so they start to over analyze what the wise decision to make should be?
What I have learned is there really is no one person to blame or no finger to point for men and women playing games i.e. Girls taking the easy road saying all men are dogs, or guys saying you should never trust a B.i****.
The mature decision is for you to take every potential situation as a totally different encounter while maintaining your composure, being educated and aware of the past.
The reason most people fail at prospective relationships is because they let the last relationship dictate the next one. A person should never use a past relationship's pain solely as a crutch but more as a tool or guide for signs to be aware of while finding out great things about the new person.
If a person only focuses on the negative about their old flame they will never find the positive characteristics about this new found hottie.
I know its easy to say you've been hurt before but instead of pointing fingers, denouncing love, and claiming to never date again, its always good to evaluate the previous relationship by deciphering what you possibly did wrong, what they did wrong and how to make it better for the next relationship.
Yes its true, in relationships men hurt women and women hurt men. Its the nature of the beast. There is no particular gender, male or female, that does more "dirt" than the other. No particular gender, male or female, is worse than the other and no gender that has been hurt more than the other. Its equal. Hurt, pain, love, joy, etc all intertwined in the cycle.
Men have traits that are desired by women and vice versa. We need each other or else there would only be one gender. The way I see it, its a vicious cycle on both ends, kind of like photosynthesis.
I was actually hurt in my very first relationship, so my initial emotional reaction was to lock myself up and not get attached in the next relationship, therefore preserving my feelings while not being "emotionally available" for the next person. Of course this recipe is an instant setup for relationship failure.
After this scenario, my selfishness caused a rift sending that previous person into her next abyss as an angry, bitter person starting the cycle over again for another to feel the wrath.
Who was wrong? Me for getting hurt originally, or for incorrectly protecting myself to leave someone else to feel pain later on?
The truth is when both parties have that mentality (usually they do) someone is always gonna get hurt only to put a newer shield up to protect themselves for the "next time". Obviously this shield stays up blocking any type of potentially good person from having any chance.
If you can actually give someone 100 percent with no shield and know they can reciprocate the feeling that's when you know your mate has your back. After all that, I'm curious as to see when the cycle will come to an end? After all the Ying And Yang sign does make a circle.
In the end its simple, you have to go through hurt, pain and a lot of losers to realize when you get someone that is down for you to cherish them. You just will not be able to appreciate them until then. Until then I say keep believing in happily ever after.

9 02 10: Greatness
I don't know about you, but days like this make me want to go be great.
The reason being so you can have an actual stamp that documents the day you did something positive.
The good thing about this date is, anyone with big dreams usually tends to see Beverly Hills in their future some type of way so its a great way to relate your trials and tribulations with your success.
Whether it is to live in the infamous zip code or at least be able to shop on Rodeo Drive with no worries.
I think we should all use this day as a motivational tool to do something bigger than the usual routine.
Or to dig deeper, use this day as the official day you started your path to greatness and once you achieve success you can look back and say, I consciously started my path on 9-02-10!
After all, the definition of insanity is doing the same things repeatedly expecting different results. So go do something out of the ordinary and make sure you reach for greatness while you do it!
Just like Drake raps in his song Greatness, "I dream big, no false hope."

An Artist's Struggle: Talkin 2 Myself...
"Is anybody out there?
It feels like I’m talkin to myself
No one seems to know my struggle
And everything I come from
Can anybody hear me?
I guess I keep talkin to myself
It feels like I’m going insane
Am I the one whose crazy?
So why in the world do I feel so alone
Nobody but me, I’m on my own
Is there anyone out there
Who feels the way I feel

Obama Ends War In Iraq
"Tonight, I am announcing that the American combat mission in Iraq has ended. Operation Iraqi Freedom is over, and the Iraqi people now have lead responsibility for the security of their country," he said.
Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Maliki hailed the restoration of sovereignty to Iraq: "Iraq today is sovereign and independent. With the execution of the troop pullout, our relations with the United States have entered a new stage between two equal, sovereign countries."
A ceremony is to be held in Baghdad today, attended by the US vice-president, Joe Biden, and Maliki, to mark the handover of responsibility for military operations from the US to Iraqi forces. Obama, whose early opposition to the invasion helped propel his White House candidacy, presented last night as the near-fulfilment of a key 2008 presidential election campaign pledge to end the war.
"This was my pledge to the American people as a candidate for this office. Last February, I announced a plan that would bring our combat brigades out of Iraq, while redoubling our efforts to strengthen Iraq's security forces and support its government and people. That is what we have done," he said.
The number of US troops in Iraq has dropped from a high of 170,000 in 2007 to 50,000, whose mission changes from today from combat to assisting the Iraqi army. All 50,000 are scheduled to leave by the end of next year, unless the Iraqi government requests a few hundred or few thousand remain behind.
Around 1.5 million US men and women served in a war the Pentagon in 2003 had promised Bush would be short. There were 4,400 US fatalities, and an Iraqi death toll estimated at 100,000 to several hundreds of thousands. The US had 3.4m pieces of equipment in Iraq last year. That is down to 1.2m now, with bases reduced from 357 to 94.
It was only the second time that Obama has delivered a televised address from the Oval Office, the first when he promised to deal with the BP oil spill in the Gulf.*

Steve Jobs Announces New Ipod Line Up...
*The iPod Touch, Apple's high-end media player and Internet device, received many of the components of the iPhone 4, including a high-resolution "retina" screen, a powerful A4 processor, two cameras and the ability to run FaceTime, Apple's mobile video chat service.
The iPod Nano, meanwhile, was shrunk down and given a petite 1.7-inch screen and small square enclosure. The device has lost the click wheel and the video playing and capture features of its predecessor but gains multi-touch input.
The smallest iPod, the Shuffle, reverted to its previous square form with buttons after a short time in which the device was sold in a tiny body without any buttons.
"This is the biggest change in the iPod lineup ever," Jobs said.
The iPod Touch will sell for $229, $299 and $399 for 8, 32 and 64 gigabyte versions while the iPod Nano will sell for $149 and $179 for 8GB and 16GB models. The iPod Shuffle will sell for $49 for a 2GB unit. All of the units will go on sale next week.*
It looks like media junkies and techies alike have a lot to look forward to with Apple's new futuristic marriage about to take place.
